Position Overview

Training Environment

Responsibilities
Teach EMT Initial and CME courses in classroom and skills lab settings
Deliver instruction aligned with Connecticut OEMS curriculum and NREMT standards
Prepare and follow approved lesson plans and course schedules
Lead skills labs, scenarios, and practical evaluations
Coach and evaluate students using Connecticut psychomotor exam criteria
Provide remediation and mentorship to support student success
Maintain accurate attendance, testing, and course documentation
Uphold instructional consistency, professionalism, and policy compliance
Coordinate with lead instructors and program leadership
Required Qualifications
Current Connecticut EMT certification in good standing
Current Connecticut EMS Instructor credential
Active CPR for Healthcare Providers certification
Strong knowledge of EMT scope of practice and exam standards
Reliable transportation with local travel availability
Strong communication and classroom management skills
Preferred Qualifications
Fire or EMS operational experience
Prior EMT Initial teaching experience
Experience with LMS platforms such as Moodle
Familiarity with Connecticut OEMS policies and testing processes
Schedule and Commitment
Evening and weekend availability required
Part time, per diem instructional assignments
Scheduling based on course demand and program needs
Compensation
